About Roofing

How do I request a roof installation quote and what is the cost?

Please give us a call at 607-563-9999 so we can gather all of the information to send an estimator to take a look at your roof. Our Installation estimates are FREE.

All installation quotes require a site visit which may only be performed if you own the property. Once the site visit is completed, your quote will usually be available within a few days. You do not need to be present for the measure.

Once a proposed contract has been signed, we typically require a 1/3 down payment with the balance due upon completion.

Once the deposit is received, work is scheduled on a first come, first serve basis; Lead time depends on weather and demand. Your Project Coordinator will call you a week prior to the start of your project.

Clear patio furniture, grilles, pots, etc. within 10 feet of the structure. Immovable items will be tarped if necessary.

Ensure access to the property is available and adequate space is available for materials and equipment.

No. You do not need to be at the property when we install your roof, simply make sure we can access the property.

Most residential roofs are complete in one to three days.

In most cases no. The expression, "like rain on an old tin roof" comes from a time when thin metal panels were often laid directly over the rafters with purlins, or over the decking with little or no insulation between the rooms that were occupied and the roof itself. With advancements since then in construction, insulation, and our 28 gauge steel, there is usually no decibel sound difference between a new steel roof and asphalt shingle roof in the interior of your home.

Our metal roofs are rated up to 140 mph winds.

Metal roofs carry an A rating for fires. Shingles, being an oil based product, can allow fires to travel to other parts of the structure once the fire has reached the roof. Metal roofing does not allow fire to spread in the same way across the surface of the roof.

Having the proper ventilation for your home is essential. Most homes typically have a ridge vent which, when paired with the soffit vents, allow warm air to circulate and vent instead of being trapped at the highest point in your home. Some people prefer a power vent which forces air out of the home, generally located in an attic space, while other structures utilize gable vents on the gable ends of the structure.

Condensation can become an issue on any roof in homes that are not properly vented because any moisture that is rising in your home becomes trapped at your roofline and then turns from vapor into liquid (this happens between 55-60 degrees) to drip down from the underside of your roof. Especially in the winter months, this can appear as a leak in your roof when in fact it is just the moisture that is trapped inside your house without a way to escape.

Propane heating/cooking sources introduce .81 gallons of moisture into your home for every gallon of fuel that is burned. Without the proper ventilation this can cause condensation.
