What to Expect During Your Free Roofing Estimate with Alpine Roofing

For many homeowners, replacing a roof is not something they do often. As a result, the process can feel unfamiliar, and it's natural to have questions about what to expect.

At Alpine Roofing, we believe a roofing estimate should be straightforward, informative, and pressure-free. Our goal is to help homeowners understand the condition of their roof, evaluate their options, and make a confident decision based on accurate information.

Here's what you can expect during your free Alpine Roofing estimate.

1. Roof Inspection & Evaluation

Every estimate begins with a thorough inspection of the roof. During this process, we evaluate the overall condition of the roofing system and look for potential concerns that may affect performance, longevity, or future repairs.

This may include:

  • Signs of aging or deterioration
  • Areas prone to leaks or water intrusion
  • Flashing and roof penetrations
  • Visible decking or structural issues

We also take photographs throughout the inspection so homeowners can clearly see what we are seeing. Our goal at Alpine Roofing is not simply to provide a price. It is to provide clarity. A homeowner should understand the condition of their roof before making any major investment.

2. Detailed Measurements & Project Planning

Once the roof has been evaluated, we take detailed measurements and assess the layout of the project. Accurate measurements allow us to properly determine:

  • Material requirements
  • Labor requirements
  • Roof-specific installation details
  • Custom trim and flashing needs

Particularly with metal roofing, precision matters. Proper planning helps ensure clean lines, proper fitment, and long-term performance. At Alpine, every estimate is customized to the property because no two roofs are exactly alike.

A quality roofing project begins long before installation day. It starts with careful planning.

3. Reviewing Roofing Options

One of the most important parts of the estimate is discussing the available options. Depending on the property, homeowners may choose to review:

  • Metal roofing (standing seam or exposed fastener)
  • Asphalt shingles
  • Colors, finishes, and textured metal options
  • Warranty coverage
  • Expected lifespan and maintenance considerations

We started as a shingle roofing company and continue to offer shingles today alongside metal and flat roofing systems. Because we work with multiple roofing systems rather than specializing in only one, we are able to provide homeowners with a broader perspective when evaluating their options. Each roofing system has its own advantages, and our role is to help homeowners understand those differences and determine which solution makes the most sense for their specific situation.

4. Receiving Your Quote

Following the inspection and measurements, we prepare a detailed estimate for the project. Most homeowners receive their quote within a few days. Because every roof is different, we take the time to ensure our estimates are accurate and tailored to the specific project. We believe clear expectations at the beginning help prevent misunderstandings later.

5. Scheduling & Deposit

If you decide to move forward with Alpine Roofing, a one-third deposit is required to move the project into production and reserve a place on the installation schedule.

This allows us to order materials, manufacture custom components when necessary, allocate production and installation resources, and secure scheduling for the project. The remaining two-thirds balance is due upon completion of the roof installation.
